I started today with some further work on the fuel tank attachment Z brackets. The brackets are secured to the spar by bolts into anchor nuts that are riveted to the Z brackets. The rivet holes required drilling and countersinking for the flush rivets. Image 1 shows one Z bracket with the three anchor nut locations with the rivet holes completed. Next I put the tank in place on the spar and match drilled the fuel tank to leading edge joint plate screw holes. Image 2 depicts the joint. The gap at the joint was a mere 1/64 inch, good and tight. This was followed by countersinking all the tank skin to tank baffle rivet holes and drilling to final size the tank to spar flange attachment holes. Image 3 depicts the later.
